Very best wishes and thoughts from a nature lover in Tetbury. Take care.
I have read Linda's blog with much interest in the last year. I have found it extremely informative. I would like to wish her good luck in fighting her illness. And thank you for your lovely web page. Best wishes and hope you are back soon.
2 days ago I was laying a tiled floor for a friend in her conservatory and amidst all the flies and wasps buzzing against the glass floated in this beautiful butterfly, I decided it wasnt going to follow the fate of the other inhabitants and its chances of survival were bolstered by the fact that I was unlikely to be stung, so I set about rescuing this delicate beauty. After a rather one sided struggle I had the butterfly resting on my fingers and took it outside and released it skywards to freedom except that it clung tightly to my hand and wouldnt go. I then spent 5 minutes studying the beautiful markings and colours wishing I had my camera to take a photo. After a few minutes rest it daintily left me and disappeared into the afternoon sky. This is how I came to your website in an attempt to discover that this colourful butterfly was a Peacock Butterfly, so thankyou for the information and the amazing photos you have produced and I am very sorry to hear of your present illness for which I wish you a speedy recovery to your garden. On the point of internet access Im sure you are aware that with a bluetooth compatible laptop and mobile phone you can access your website from your room, it can be a bit expensive to buy but, hey, its only money. Get well soon, William Clough
I found a beautiful butterfly this afternoon, about six miles from Cirencester, which I photographed and wanted to identify. Thanks to your fascinating site, I identified it without trouble (another Peacock) and was delighted to see that you were "local" to me. I investigated further, and read the news of your illness. I would like to add my best wishes to those of others posting here and thank you for sharing your love and immense knowledge of butterflies.
Hi Linda,
I have found your website looking for flowers for my sons cub homework. I just wanted to say "be positive". My husband was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukeamia almost 2 years ago. He was on medication but underwent a bone marrow transplant 6 weeks ago. He has done really well but it will take a few months till we know if he is cured. Be strong and think of the butterflies and flowers in your garden. Good luck.
Thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Steve G.
Have just stumbled on this site while surfing to identify some blue butterflies we have in our paddocks, (think they are common blues) what an excellent website created by someone who obviously adores nature and the world around her. Thanks for sharing your pics and knowledge with us Linda, will bookmark this site and keep my fingers crossed for you during this traumatic time. Hope you make a speedy recovery, take care.
Peter from Norfolk.
Dear Linda,
I found an exquisite butterfly at my window In the middle of London just a few days ago, and found this site trying to identify it (a beautiful Peacock - what a treat for a townie!). I was immediately impressed with your site and your wonderful way of capturing the spirit of butterflies in your photos. Then I saw you have this health challenge. I wanted to post here to give you my thanks for being the wonderful person you so clearly are, and to wish you countless blessings and lots of love. May you receive every support and guidance you need for this journey, and may it lead you to the very highest health and healing.

Dear Linda
I've been looking at your site on and off for a few months and it's spurred me to join Butterfly Concervation. You've inspired me to find out more and do what I can to bring these beautiful creatures into my garden.
Anyone who evidences such commitment with this website is obviously a person with a 'can do' mentality. Keep strong through these tough times and I shall look forward to seeing your thoughts and photos on these pages again. Take care.
Dear Linda
I have just discovered your wonderful and lovingly produced website. Your photos and efforts to educate the likes of me are inspirational.
So saddened to read of your current health and look forward to emailing you when you return online.

Dear Linda
Yet another person who has just chanched upon your delightful website in the last few days.
I was looking for ideas for plants to attract butterflies to my rather green and dull garden in Oxted, Surrey.
In my youth whilst on holiday i would collect together masses of newly hatched caterpillars in their "nests" on the top of stinging nettles, and painstalkingly (in more ways than one!) help them grow into beautiful adult butterflies and release them into my then back yard in South London. They were Small Tortoiseshells, supposedly common then, but unfortunatley not common enough now in Oxted!
So I am trying to pass on my love of butterflies to my two young daughters by revisiting my experiences as a child.
Your obvious passion and dedication is an inspiration to all, and I would like to add my best wishes and positive thoughts so that you may quickly recover back to your beloved garden.
Much love
David - Oxted, Surrey
