Brimstone. My previous garden in Wiltshire. 7 August 1999.

notes:

This is the Geranium, so often found on market stalls and in garden centres during May.

The only butterfly that I've ever seen on a Geranium is the Brimstone, but that is a good enough reason to grow Geraniums as far as I'm concerned. I saw a Brimstone on a red Geranium amongst the summer bedding display in Marlborough, Wiltshire in August 2002.

It's possible to keep the plants over the winter by hanging them up in a garage or shed.
